PME invests 25 million euros in the new DeeptechXL investment fund. Other investors in this fund include ASML and Philips. The fund, totalling at least 100 million euros, invests in young Dutch companies specialising in new high-quality technology. The fund not only helps financially, but also offers know-how, experience, and a network of participating investors.

Investing in this fund is in line with PME's policy of investing in its own industry and in companies that have a positive social impact. Eric Uijen, chairman of the PME executive board:

"PME provides pensions in the metal and technology industries. Our investments help guarantee good pensions and at the same time contribute to a positive social impact. After all, we all want to enjoy a good pension in a liveable world. Deep tech contributes to this with solutions to social challenges. This new investment also fits seamlessly in our programme aimed at driving the Dutch technology and innovation sector. This way, we set our supporters' equity to work to achieve a good pension, a thriving technology sector as well as a better world."
