PME receives transfer decision from De Nederlandsche Bank
Pension fund PME has received the transfer decision from De Nederlandsche Bank. This means PME has been given the go-ahead to transfer the existing pensions of all participants to the new pension scheme. This decision marks an important milestone in the preparations for the switch to the new pension scheme on 1 January 2027.
In recent years, social partners, the PME board, the accountability body and implementation partners TKP and MN have worked together to make this step possible. DNB has critically assessed the documents submitted, including the financial set-up, the financial consequences for various groups of participants and the balanced weighing of interests. With the transfer decision, the supervisory authority confirms that PME can continue the switch to the new pension scheme.
Alae Laghrich, chair of PME’s Executive Board, explains:
‘Receiving the transfer decision is an important milestone. Over the past few years, we have worked hard to organise this in a careful and balanced way, together with social partners, the accountability body and our implementing organisations TKP and MN. Naturally, DNB closely examined the financial set-up and the financial consequences for all generations. The coming months will focus on the final system tests, transfer simulations and clear communication towards our members and employers. In this way, we are working towards a careful switch to the new pension scheme as of 1 January 2027.’
An important step, but not the last one
The transfer decision fulfils a crucial condition for the switch, but the work is not yet done. In the coming months, PME will continue to carefully work towards controlled implementation of the new scheme. Together with implementing organisations TKP and MN, we are carefully testing and simulating systems and processes.
From October to November, all our participants will receive statements in phases, containing personal provisional estimates of their expected pensions in the new scheme. The final outcomes for members will be determined based on the fund’s financial position at the end of the year.
