Nomination and elections for two board seats

The board of PME has several representatives. They represent employers and employees in our sector, but also everyone who receives a pension from PME. On 1 July 2026, the term of the two board members who represent people receiving a pension will expire. This means that candidates can be nominated for these two seats.

Nomination until 15 November 2025

The nomination is made by the organisations that are involved in PME under the Articles of Association. These are FNV, CNV, De Unie, VHP2 and VGPME. They may choose to renominate the current board members. Other organisations may also nominate candidates. These organisations must, however, have the aim under the Articles of Association of representing the interests of people who receive a pension from PME. People may also nominate someone or nominate themselves. You can register until 15 November 2025.

Possible elections in April 2026

If there more than two suitable candidates for the vacant board positions, elections will be held in April 2026. Anyone receiving a pension from PME may vote for their favourite candidate. The two candidates with the most votes are appointed by the board of PME. This is subject to the condition that they receive approval from the regulator De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB).

Conditions for nomination

  • If you are nominating yourself or someone else, the following conditions apply:
  • The candidate meets the profile (in Dutch).
  • The candidate has at least 200 statements of support (names and signatures) from people who receive a pension from PME.
  • The nomination shall include:
    o   A motivation
    o   A CV
o   A completed signaturelist (in Dutch)
o    And, if necessary, other documents showing that the candidate meets the profile
  • The Election Commission may request additional information.
  • Candidates must be registered with the Election Commission by 15 November 2025 at verkiezingen@pmepensioenfonds.nl

Election procedure and appointment of board members

The Election Commission, made up of four board members, assesses the candidates for suitability. The assessment is based on the profile, the CV, the motivation and a personal interview. An external knowledge test is part of the assessment.

After the Election Commission has made a positive assessment of the suitability, a pre-employment screening will take place. This screening is performed by an external party. If the pre-employment screening does not result in increased integrity risks, the candidate is placed on the list of candidates.

The objective of the strict assessment of both suitability and integrity is to ensure that all eligible candidates can pass the mandatory DNB test. A similar procedure is followed for all PME board members.

If the list of candidates has more than two candidates, elections will be held in April 2026. If the list of candidates has two candidates, the candidates are automatically selected.

The selected candidates are registered with the regulator DNB for approval. PME prepares the selected candidates for this test. Following the approval of DNB, the selected candidates will be appointed as members of the Board on 1 July 2026.
